Uniform Policy

How it works at Sacred Heart!

 School Uniform:

All students in grades K-8 must be dressed in the school uniform. The Sacred Heart School uniform may be purchased from Allen's in Leominster. John's Sport Shop carries the school gym uniform and hooded sweatshirts.

 

Boys:

 

·   maroon or white polo (short or long sleeve)

·   navy blue, gray pleated dress pants (or khaki for Middle School Grades 5, 6, 7, and 8)

·   navy blue, gray pleated shorts* (or khaki for Middle School Grades 5, 6, 7, and 8)

·   navy fleece vest (Grades 5, 6, 7, and 8)

·   maroon cardigan and vest sweaters

·   Sacred Heart maroon sweatshirt

 

Girls:

 

·   maroon polo (short or long sleeve)

·   white polo (short or long sleeve)

·   maroon and gray plaid jumper or skirt- KNEE LENGTH

·   gray or navy blue pleated dress pants*

·   gray or navy blue pleated shorts*

·   gray or navy dress skorts (Khaki for grades 5, 6, 7, and 8)

·   maroon cardigan and vest sweaters

·   navy fleece vest (grades 5, 6, 7, and 8)

·   Sacred Heart maroon hooded sweatshirt

 

*Denotes that these articles may be worn during temperatures when it is necessary with a choice of white or maroon turtlenecks.

All shirts must be tucked inside.

 

Footwear:

Black shoes or black sneakers are the designated shoes for the Sacred Heart Uniform. Sneakers are recommended because of our playground and the safety they provide on its surface. On gym days, sneakers must be worn. At this time any sneaker style is allowed. Overshoes and snow boots must be removed during class. All footwear must be laced to the top and tied.

 

Hairstyle:

Hair must be neatly groomed. No excessively long hairstyles (below the collar) for boys are acceptable. All hair must be your naturally colored.

 

Jewelry:

Boys and girls may wear jewelry as long as it is not excessive, in poor taste, or disruptive in the classroom.

 

Gym uniforms for both the boys and girls are gray/maroon sweat pants with gray/maroon t-shirts. The Middle Grade may wear navy/maroon wind pants- no stripes or emblems. Maroon or gray shorts may be worn.

Gray/Maroon gym sweatshirts (no hoods) with the Sacred Heart School insignia are the only sweatshirts that may be worn for gym. Gym uniforms are only to be worn on the designated gym day.

 

Parents and students must follow the dress code as described. The Principal will contact the student's parent or guardian with dress code concerns. Certain days of the school year may be designated by the Principal as "dress down days" in which students are allowed to wear clean, appropriate play clothes. No clothes advertising or logos stating inappropriate behavior, chemical use will be allowed. No sleeveless shirts or short skirts/shorts are allowed.  Guidelines for appropriate length are: students arms held at their sides, shorts and skirts should be minimum fingertip level.

Students should be suitably dressed for the weather.
